TWO WHEELS! KALAMAZOO
So yeah...Bikes are pretty cool.|
1975 Honda CB-550-Four here. All original.
Took her out today for a wonderful ride, too damn hot to stay home but get out into the wind and it's great.
my first bike was a 71 500 four
i got a 98 yzf600r and a 79 kick start only harley sportster.
I had a '71 550 for about 3 months. Loaned it to my roomate to drive to work (his car died).
He came back about 7 hours late with the bike hanging by it's back wheel from a tow truck hook (and wadded into a nice ball) and the worst case of road-rash I've ever seen. He'd hit a muffler on 131 downtown GR (where I was living at the time).
I like having the kick-start on the Honda (it's got Electric too for cold-starts in the morning), it makes me feel old though when some 17 year old on a crotchrocket walks up at a gas station and asks what that lever is for. I've considered making a T-shirt for guys like me that ride the vintage bikes. It would simply say "That's a Kick-Start Lever, son."
I've also got a '78-750 sitting in pieces in my workshop. One of these days I'll assemble it perhaps.
haha wow,that sucks!
my next bike is going to be a cafe'd 750.i already got one lined up,a 77SS..just need the money now.
i like having an electric start bike and all (my crotch rocket)but i like havin old bikes, and the charm of those is being able to kick them.i'll tell you what,i started my sportster for the first time this week (buying it from work and slowly paying it off, like layaway) and that thing fired on the first kick.thats alot of bike to kick over, but strangely easy
there is a shirt for you alreadyhttp://www.unkinddesign.com/
84 yamaha 650 special.
Definatly rode almost all day today.
